CABLETEC GAINS APPROVAL TO EN4199

As part of a working committee of major European aerospace manufacturers, Cabletec has been an active participant in creating a new European product standard for metal braid and bonding leads for aerospace and military applications. The new standard, EN4199, was published by ASD (Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe) in early 2008.

EN4199-006 is a range of tin plated and nickel plated round braids and EN4199-004 a range of bonding leads manufactured from the EN4199-006 braids. The standard includes a comprehensive test programme, including voltage drop, tensile strength, accelerated ageing, sinusoidal and random vibration, salt mist, rapid temperature change, temperature endurance and flexure endurance.

Currently Cabletec is the only manufacturer approved to this new standard. It is expected that eventually all the major aerospace and military manufacturers of Europe will adopt thisnew important standard as their specification for braid and bonding leads.

CABLETEC GAINS AIRBUS APPROVAL

Cabletec is pleased to announce that it is now fully Airbus approved to manufacture and supply metal braid and bonding leads for use on all Airbus aircraft. This is the result of Airbus adopting EN4199, the new ASD approved European product standard for round braid and bonding leads.

This is an important win for Cabletec and the result of many years of hard work and dedication as part of the EN4199 working committee and with Airbus direct.

Airbus is the world’s second largest manufacturer of civil aircraft, gaining this prestigious approval is a significant achievement for Cabletec and forms part of our core strategy to target key manufacturers in the military and civil aerospace sector.
